Meru Youth Service (MYS) trainees were in Maua town today in a spirited community service exercise demonstrating their commitment to building a cleaner and more responsible society. Education, Science, Culture and Arts CECM Dr. Esther Rukunga joined the trainees reinforcing the County Government of Meru’s dedication to youth empowerment and development.
The activity received strong support from both departmental and municipal leadership, highlighting the critical role young people play in driving community transformation and sustainable development. This exercise forms a key component of the MYS training programme that is specifically designed to instill discipline, promote teamwork, and nurture a strong sense of civic responsibility among the youth.
Trainees actively participated in cleaning and environmental maintenance activities across the town, sending a powerful message that meaningful development begins with taking pride in one’s environment. As Meru continues to invest in its youth, initiatives like these remain central to building a united, responsible, and progressive community.
