Meru Youth Service (MYS) CEO CPA Edwin Murangiri held a consultative meeting with officials from the Department of Education, the Directorate of Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), and heads of VTCs across Meru county.
‎Their discussions focused on the ongoing transformation of MYS and preparations for phase two of the programme’s technical and skills training which will equip MYS recruits with practical and marketable skills to enhance their employability and create opportunities for entrepreneurship.
‎Discussions with VTC heads centred on key areas of preparedness including the readiness of training centres, reporting dates for recruits, availability of all necessary training resources, and the preparedness of both trainers and trainees ahead of the commencement of the skills training phase.
‎This engagement underscores MYS’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and well coordinated transition into phase two while providing every recruit with an opportunity to acquire relevant skills that can open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, and a brighter future.
