The CEO of Meru Youth Service (MYS), CPA Edwin Murangiri, today attended a consultative meeting at the offices of Inua Mama Mjane CBO, where discussions focused on exploring strategic partnership opportunities with the Meru County Government.
The organization, which is currently implementing a skills development program sponsored by SHOFCO, is offering vocational training in welding and event management. Through this collaboration, selected Meru Youth Service recruits will undergo a three-month intensive training program fully sponsored by Inua Mama Mjane.
Upon completion of the training, the recruits will sit for the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) examination before graduating, equipping them with industry-recognized skills and certifications that will enhance their employability and self-reliance.
The CEO, CPA Edwin Murangiri, commended the initiative, noting that the partnership will play a significant role in empowering the youth through practical skills and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for young people across Meru County.
He was accompanied by the Board Chairperson, Caroline Ntiyari, who emphasized the importance of collaborative partnerships in advancing youth empowerment programs. She highlighted that such initiatives will help nurture talent, reduce unemployment, and positively transform the lives of many young people in the county.
