Meru Youth Service (MYS) CEO Edwin Murangiri held a consultative meeting with Meru County Commissioner Jacob Ouma to deliberate on matters concerning the MYS training curriculum.
While emphasizing the importance of strengthening the program’s civic education component, CEO Murangiri requested support from the County Commissioner’s office in facilitating training sessions for newly recruited participants particularly in areas of citizenship, civic responsibility, and public participation. According to the CEO, these elements are critical parts of the curriculum as they equip trainees with the necessary knowledge and values to become responsible and active members of society.
Acknowledging the significance of instilling civic awareness and responsible citizenship among the youth, the County Commissioner welcomed the collaboration and expressed his willingness to offer support, noting that empowering young people with such knowledge contributes to building a more informed, disciplined, and participatory community.
Also present was MYS Chairperson Caroline Ntinyari who expressed appreciation for the engagement and positive cooperation between MYS and the County Commissioner’s office. She reiterated the Board’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that enhance the quality and impact of the youth training program.
