Meru Youth Service (MYS) CEO Edwin Murangiri convened a strategic meeting with the newly appointed board members today, setting a strong foundation for collaborative leadership as MYS continues to align its programmes with county development priorities.
‎The session served as a comprehensive orientation, offering the new board members an overview of MYS’s mandate, ongoing programmes, and strategic focus areas. The CEO underscored the board’s critical role in strengthening institutional governance, enhancing accountability, and guiding MYS’s long-term growth.
‎Deliberations also explored key opportunities for interdepartmental collaboration, particularly in vocational training, youth empowerment initiatives, sports development, and gender responsive programming. All participating teams reaffirmed their commitment to working together to expand opportunities and improve support systems for young people across Meru County, with Youth Affairs, Sports, Gender and Social Development CECM Elias Murega pledging his full support.
The day concluded with a consultative meeting and team building meeting between the new board and the staff.
Also in attendance were Youth Affairs, Sports, Gender and Social Development Chief Officer Kagwiria Murega, the Director of Vocational Training Centers Gladys Ngari, and former MYS Board Chairman Dr. Bundi Karau.
