Chaired by Ag. County Secretary David Baariu, the interdepartmental Committee of the Meru Youth Service (MYS), convened a strategic session to develop a unified roadmap for youth empowerment and structured community engagement in line with H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia’s clarion call for inclusive growth, service and opportunity creation. They reviewed ongoing MYS initiatives and strengthened coordination mechanisms to ensure programmes remain impactful, accountable and responsive to community needs.
Members explored practical avenues of deploying the MYS cohort into departmental community service roles to enhance public service delivery while nurturing skills, discipline and leadership among young people. The committee also finalized an action oriented implementation calendar aimed at reinforcing interdepartmental collaboration, streamlining execution and sustaining momentum toward a results driven, youth-led development agenda.
