The Chief Executive Officer of Meru Youth Service (MYS), CPA Edwin Murangiri, spearheaded a high-level consultative engagement with Meru County Sub-County and Ward Administrators as part of preparations for the upcoming Meru Youth Service recruitment exercise.

The meeting focused on strategic coordination and effective implementation of the program, ensuring that the recruitment process reaches deserving youth across all wards and sub-counties in the county. This initiative is anchored in the visionary leadership of H.E. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia, whose commitment to youth empowerment continues to shape sustainable solutions aimed at creating opportunities for young people and steering them away from drug and substance abuse.

The Meru Youth Service (MYS) is a transformative program designed to empower underserved and unemployed youth. Eligibility requirements are minimal — applicants must possess a KCPE certificate and a valid National Identity Card, ensuring inclusivity and access for many young people who may have been left behind.

Successful recruits will actively participate in community service projects that contribute to the development and cleanliness of Meru County, while earning a daily stipend of KSh 500. Beyond financial support, participants will gain practical life skills, discipline, work ethics, and hands-on experience, laying a strong foundation for personal growth and future economic empowerment.

Youth who meet the requirements are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity to acquire skills, earn an income, and meaningfully contribute to community development while shaping a better future for themselves.

Also in attendance was the Chairperson of Meru Youth Service board,Caroline Ntinyari, who reaffirmed her unwavering support for the program and emphasized the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in nurturing, empowering, and uplifting Meru’s youth.
